Caring for your clothes
To maintain the look and feel of your garment and give it a long life, it
is always best to follow the recommended cleaning instructions. These are
indicated on a label in your garment (usually sewn in the side seam on the
left hand side when worn).
We have however written some general cleaning guidelines below which we’ve
used when testing out our garments.
Cashmere
It is best to dry clean your cashmere however it can be handwashed and following
these steps will help ensure your cashmere keeps its shape and softness.
1. Wash in lukewarm water using a high quality woollen detergent
2. Squeeze out suds carefully, but don’t rub or wring
3. Rinse carefully in clean lukewarm water at least 3 times, squeezing gently
but do not wring
4. You can put the garment in to a washing machine for a short light spin
to remove most of the water
5. Smooth garment back into its original shape
6. Dry flat on a towel away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry.
7. When dry press lightly with a cool iron.
8. Wear and enjoy
Cotton
Cotton can be hand or machine washed or dry cleaned.
To machine wash cotton use a warm cycle (40°). A non-chlorine bleach detergent
is best to maintain the colour of the garment. Followed by a gentle tumble
dry. Use a warm iron.
Silk
We always recommend that you dry clean your silk garments.
However silk can be handwashed using a gentle (non-alkaline) detergent.
Don’t’ wring your garment out when washing, but roll it in a
towel to remove moisture and dry flat.
Iron using a very cool heat, or better
still hang the garment and gently steam out any creases.
